I keep being told it is a direct replacement but I cannot get the hub off or out of the old wheel without destroying the rubber that is all around it. I will have pics up at this link. I am woundering if this column is not from a 78 because the wheel is different?!? There are no swrews that I can see to disconnect it or am I missing something??Question

[/QUOTE] It has to be, the 76 is the odd ball. Before we go too far lets hear from a 76 owner, I hope I am wrong.

Sorry to tell you this but that looks like the same wheel that is on my '76. It has the same 4 spoke pattern. My colunm has tilt/tele stock. You need the info that suncountry has on this. Check the post "1976 Steering Wheels?"Aaron19762008-08-08 13:12:59

I would guess the car originally didn't have a tilt/telescoping column, hence the swap. Of all the luck to pick a 76 to replace the original with though.....Wits%20End

It currently does not have tilt SOOO I will be replacing that with one that does, and using my new wheel with the new column. Got the power seat issue rite now so just need the column to arrive and away I hope to go!
