So I got to rebuilding the calipers.. and am using the engine paint..I used the BBQ paint last time..it says to cure the paint for 30 minutes at 200 degrees let cool for 30 then 400 degrees ..I hope it doesn't stink to bad!! Maybe I should invest in a small apartment size stove??

So Rich, did you bake your parts again? Is it done yet? Was just wondering where you bought your caliper kits? Were your calipers SS or just a stock core? I have an extra set of calipers that I was thinking about rebuilding and was wondering if I should wait till I need them or do them now and let them sit until needed. Hopefully that would be never but Im worried about the brakes since the car will have sat for about a year or more till I get it back on pavement.

I am still waiting for the rebuild kits..should be here in the morning..so they say..they used to stock this stuff..not any more!! I get them from auto zone or advance..I tried the fancy ones for more money..came in a different box..same china bag..I got the one side completely done..the arm is done for the ds..might go for a bolt up later this afternoon..calipers I think had stainless sleeves in them stock at some point...I think...not sure on that on though..mine had the sleeves in them already ..but..the brakes suck if they sit to long without a fluid flush..they were very dirty on the inside..so..its a little more time and 40$ to rebuild all four..and done they will be..

Just a little update since it has been a while..I got everything together and have been fighting the bleed process..so I have replaced the rear brake hoses and will redo the process..I have been really hung up the last two weeks with work since one guy quit and they moved advisors around to match work load..now all of a sudden we have more work than we can do..which is amazing how that can happen..I think Joel posted something about monkees and bananas some time ago..it basically said thats how its always been and thats how it will always be..whether its right or wrong..people in this business really are that dumb..so its good someone kicked the monkees erse..Dad seems happy with the progress so far..I guess thats all that really matters..hopefully finish up the brake bleed this week.

Rich, did you get the brakes bled yet. Are you out driving this thing now? You havent been on the forum as much in the last 2 weeks so I assume you are traveling around in it! Cant wait to check it out.
