HEY Everybody! Well my trailing arms and hopefully my control arms will be done this week, the only things I couldn't do myself Angry. There is actually a leaf spring shop in Tacoma so I took mine into get refurbished.

What do you all recomend I do for coil springs and shocks? I have brand new Goodyear Eagle GT II 255 60 R15 so I'm a little concerned about clearence, a lot of the aftermarket coils state they lower an 1".  Are the aftermarket coil springs from madvette etc.. really make that much of a difference I'm looking for all around good combo street/strip.

Hey!  I used 550# coils, a composite monospring in the rear, and Bilstein shocks on all 4 corners.  It did drop the car over an inch in the front and back.  At the time, I was also running Goodyear Eagle GT II's 255/60/15's and had no clearance issues so I think you should be fine.  My suspension upgrades made a huge difference to me.  I prefer the stiffer ride myself and the car handles great!  I don't think it is a rough ride, but others may disagree though because it all comes down to personal preference.

That's what I'm wanting to know Thank You! I was leaning towards the blistens too. Would it be weird to change out the coils and drop an inch in the front and keep the stock style leaf in the back? Would it cause problems elsewhere like the bearings or drive shaft angles?

You shouldn't have any problems doing that.  I'd recommend the monospring, its a great upgrade if you want to do that in the future.  Handles great and I compared them on a scale and it came in about 40 lbs less too.  I think you can also get longer spring bolts if you want the rear to sit down a little more too.  I know you can do it with the monosprings... just haven't heard anybody do it with the original leaf spring.  Anybody lower the rear with the steel spring?  Check out Vette Brakes and Products and Van Steel for springs and bolts!

Well I deicided to leave well enough alone, I'm not getting a warm and fuzzy about changing the front coil springs and leaving the stock leaf. It cost me 20 bucks to get the rear spring refurbished and I'm going to powder coat the front springs. Since I am planning on selling the car after it's rebuilt I will leave it to the next owner to decide. I have noticed that vette brakes is the place to go for shocks they are cheaper than all the other big resellers zips, mid america and corvette amer. .

Finally got my Trailing arms back today. Shocks are in the mail along with the one bad lower control arm but at least I can start slapping parts back on the frame now.
