A spindle knocker for sure! My first attempt I used my 30 ton press and bent the trailing arm,bad deal. Then I double nutted the spindle and boogered the threads in the same press. Then I started asking questions. The spindle knocker screws all the way down on the spindle so the threads don't take the pounding, the shoulder at bottom of threads does. With a couple of heavy hits from a 5# hammer, the spindle pops out without damage to anything. After putting all back together I used a dial indicator and gave the spindle 3/1000 of play.So thats the 2 main tools.I have a bead blast cabinet, but you could do it with wire bruhes, etc, after cleaning all with laq. wash or mineral spirits.Take one apart ,take digitals, that way you can use the other for reference and visa/versa.I learned on the second one to assemble all the e brake pcs to the dust shield, rather than assembling the e brake pcs after the dust shield was bolted to the t/arm.Use 4 new lock washers and nuts when re-assembling spindle support to t/arm.When you remove arm from car isolate the shims that are in the frame rail so they go back in the same way.
