I just put on new trailing arms last weekend. It was pretty painless. New slotted shims make things easier. I used a 2x4 on the shock mount and whacked it with a small sledge, came right off and no damage to the threads.

You can sit the TA on a floor jack to support the weight while you wiggle the bolt into position. Sawzall is in my Corvette tool book for removal. That and the longest metal-toothed carbide blades....
Check all of your brake lines and e-brake cables while the business is apart....now's an opportune time if they need updating!!

Good luck!!

I should receive the TA's next Monday but will start early on the following Saturday. I will post on my local Vette forum (ACE) and try to make a Corvette Saturday out of it.
I'll post with results

Finished!
All went good with no real problems. The Sawzall IS the C3 mechanic/restorer's best friend!
Both bolts had to be cut out and on one side the shims took a few hours to chip, pound and pry out. Replaced with new shims, the same number that was there; did a long test drive today and all is good, no more vibrations! I cleaned everything up and did some painting while I was there. The U joints were all in good shape as was everything else.
Next project will be front end rebuild, you'll be hearing from me lol.
Thanks for the help all!
