Howdy all. Well I made some calls and brought it by a few shops and so far the local area is, for the most part, stumped. A little progress has been made however more on that in a few
As some of you may remember my rear brakes have been lightly sticking when stopping making a sort of creaking noise. Also on take off they stick (if they stuck going into the stop) but soon release and all is peachy. For the complete list of stuff ive swapped out and more background go here to the "brake hell" message line
https://www.c3vr.com/vrforums/message_go.asp?MID=43656#46422
But in short only the hard lines, the front calipers, and the master cylinder havent been changed. oh yeah I dont have the clips for the lines between the hard lines and the flex lines at the moment.
So heres the progress so far (and it aint much) Ive got it narrowed down to exactly the driving conditions when it happens, and THIS IS WIERD!!! When the car heats up to normal opperating condition and when I am braking while turning left or right you dont need to make a big turn either. THIS IS THE ONLY TIME IT HAPPENS. I swear Im not making this up! Im completely stuck on this, as well as all the shops Ive talked to. So Im open to any and all suggestions, hell if ya know any good witch doctors send em my way
Thanx all
Glenn

This may sound weird, but it may not be the brakes. Try adding some Positraction additive to the diff and see what happens.

Yeah try that, but dont just add it too the old grease, drain or siphon as much of the old grease as you can,if you are lucky enough to have a drain plug in your differential, which not very many of us do.add 2 bottles of posi additive, and then fill it up with fresh grease.then take the car out for a ride and do a lot of left and right turns, find a empty parking lot and do a lot of donuts,I don't meen KRISPY KREEMES,I mean a lot of left hand circles and then right hand circles.this will get those posi discs loosened up and cleaned up then just drive it like you normally would.it should clear up the noise,I had to do it twice b-4 it stopped, then changed it 1 more time just for laughs,no more noise the 3rd time I only added 1 bottle of posi lube.try it it could'nt hurt |hammer| |thumb| |withstupid|

I have had the same thing ever since I bought my car, in 1994. I have changed everything through the years, complete brake system and rear end with gear rato change, and it still does it. Just figured it was part of the "way thinks are" with Vettes. Nothing ever broke so if it ain't broke, don't fix it is my thought.

Hi Glenn
If it as my car I would start by flushing the brake lines
2 quarts of silicone fluid will do this-I don't know if
this will fixv you'r problem but it will give you a
base line to start with! Every problem is a process of
elimination!-Brakes are usualy pretty obsious-they work
or they don't.

I agree with ken & ron.. if it is only in turns and only when warmed up.. then I would definitely flush the differential oil..

drilling and tapping a drain plug is the easiest way to drain the diff.... if you dont feel comfortable doing this.. you can take it somewhere.. many shops do this as SOP when working on a drainless diff.. (unless its somethings easy to get the cover off like a truck)

you can add a tube of posi fluid like kens suggests.. if it fixes it.. then drain and replace as ron suggests.. the extra tube in the worn out oil wont last long.
