I like the firestone firehawk 500. Reasonably priced & rated at the top when compared to many other brands on tirerack.

BFG Radial T/A are great for the money. Also I've found Cooper Cobra's are excellent as well.

Dayton Daytona's, 235/70/15 for a sweet soft ride. Everyone knows you need all the help you can get to have a soft ride in these babies. Good prices, Gene

I tried Firestone Firehawks on one of my 79s. Within two months the other one got them. I've been driving C-2s and 3s since the late 60s and have tried many different brands and these are the first tires that have really impressed me!

I haven't been able to bring myself to buy Firestones since the recall in the mid '90's.

I'm w/Gunslinger on the BFG's however, there is a nationwide backorder on these and BFG won't say if or when they will re-start production.

Uniroyal Tigerpaw ST's are great for vettes as well.

Good luck!

BTW, I currenlty have Kumho's on mine and can't wait to get rid of them.  It takes 30 min @ highway speeds to heat them up they are so hard.  They are great if all you want to do is autoX or race, but they aren't so hot if you want any ride comfort at all.  They also don't wear as well as BFG's and others.
