Anything, but Stock and more mods to come!
SSBC Force 10 Brakes, 3.73, TH350, 355 CID, Rack and Pinion, Vette Brakes suspension front and rear.
Currently I have BFG's on my 72. Can't complain, but I'm going to be moving up to larger rims, and will probably look at Toyo's, Falkens, Kumhos, Firestones, Or Yoko's for a high speed directional pattern tire for more sport then all season.
I can tell you that currently on my Cad DeVille and Ford Explorer I have Yoko's on both. Got them through tire rack and had one of their recommended installers put them on. Save me a ton. I have the Avid S/T on the explorer, paid $40 each. On the Deville I have the Avid Touring Style, paid $42 each.
Can't beat that. They handle great and cut through the water like a hot knife through butter. I don't blink an eye at driving 70/75 MPH in the rain. And we have a lot of rain here in KY/TN. One set is rated at 60K miles the Touring is 80K miles.
I'm on my second set of Cooper Tires on my Toyota Truck. They're a good tire as well and I have never had any problems with them either. Wet traction is good, better when they didn't have 60k miles on them. They need to be replaced as the tread is getting thin, and I'm probably going to consider putting Yoko's on it as well.
Tire Rack RULES!!!!!!

Good point, its nice to keep an American classic all American. Japanese Cars made in the USA, American brands made overseas, whats one to do? Got the Yoko's today and had them mounted on the rims, got them home, was cleaning all the finger prints off the rims, and I'll be damned it said MADE IN USA on the sidewall.
Well,
I just bought a set of Dunlops, not on yet. I let you know what I think once I get 'em on!

Well my tires and new rims finally came in the other day. I now have BF Goodrich Radial T/A's P255/60R15's. Man what a difference in handling. The car tracks nicer down the road, even holds the road in the rain! Goodyear needs to go back to the drawing board on economy performance tires.
BTW, I had the tires mounted on some new steel corvette rally rims (chrome) from Wheel Vintiques -Series 32 w/new derby caps with the C.M.D. inscription. They look very cool. Now I have to update my sig. pic.

I put 'em off to the side for now. I plan on selling them w/ or w/o the tires. The tire are at about half life left. I don't like dust collectors sitting around.

Hi all,
After reading this thread I Checked my tires and I need them soon. The tires that are on my 79 L48 are P225/70R15 Goodyear Eagle GT+4. I am getting prices on the BFG TA's but I see that most of you have gone with the P255/60/15 size. Is this a better size and is there enough room for them with a stock suspension?

Bill,
No problem with the 255/60/15. I have the Firestone Firehawk SS20 on my 79 and they are a great tire.....

That's part of the reason Goodyear BOUGHT Kelly & Dunlop in the first place. By the way, NOT ALL of Goodyear tires are made in the USA (the Club is produced in Poland) but Goodyear is the ONLY American OWNED tire company.
