My 81 came with the 255's when new. I went with the Pirelli's when I replaced tires because they are V rated. Better than most 15's you'll get.

I finally got the new Indy 500's on this past week. What a difference over the Dunlaps. Smoother, quieter, and a much better grip. I'm impressed with them and glad I made the switch

everybody runs TA's, I did to, but when it can to buying new ones I decided to make a change, I had a 57 Buick lead slede I put them on and I didn't like them, soo I went to the Tire Rack and did my homework and came up with Yoko's Avid S/T's, they were the TR's #2 seller in the class and they blew TA's (a French Company) and Dunlap away as far as price and customer satisfaction,I like em, they are quiet, they stick, T rated, and made in the USA, $290.delivered to the house,as far as the tire rub I don't know about you guys but both my cars rub only on hard left turns, not on the fender openings but on the frame and the rear of the inner fender, check the bolts that hold the EEC cannister to the inside of the inner fender and see if the paint is rubber off or the frame jut behind the control arms, this time I put 245's on the front and no tire rub,255's on the rear.
