Louis post sounds like a fake. I wonder if he works at the shop? The whole thing sounds a like a commercial.
What did I miss here?

I know the voices aren't real, but they have some pretty cool ideas...
Hey guys,
Who is ossw1? And what is the commerical about?
Anyway,
I have disapeared... I've been really busy latley. He's ahd the arm for over a month. THis guy is just way to busy. Plus in the meantime I've talked to a Corvette Restoration shop locally. He said for $142 a side he can rebuild each arm with no core. He's been in biz for a long time, he's all over. I've been buy his shop before, and oh man, do they restore a lot of Vettes. That's actually all they do. He was explaining the load has to be set right on the bearing, and it all has to go back together perfectly or else you're going to ahve many problems. I'll figure it out in due time, but I got a lot of parts to hunt down.

Louis, be carefull if you do this yourself.
As a last resort.
You can take a die grinder with a small tip and cut through the section you are trying to remove. DON'T cut all the way through. Just cut most of the way through, and relieve the stress on the component, then the press can take over and get them out.
IF you cut too much and nick the other parts, you will weaken them and create a future failure.
Again, be very carefull, take it slow, and don't cut too much. I would recommend taking to the Vette shop you found and having them do the bearings for you. Set up is touchy and critical.
