Hey friends - Happy New Year - well I have talked myself into biting the bullet and getting one of those VPB suspension packages - they advertise that they come ready for the do-it-your-selfer and they include a DVD with step by step instructions. Any one have any experience doing something like this yourself? I'd appreciate any advise, as I am a 57 year old novice wrench and am looking forward to getting my hands dirty but also am afraid I might be getting in over my herad. Thanks, Ken.

Hey Ken, I sure someone on here has done it. If it helps I got lots of pictures of the frame and suspension, it's not the same as what your doing but it might help out.
The people at VBP are outstanding to talk too over the phone, really nice and helpfull so don't hesitate to call them. The only thing that gave me a little trouble was compressing the front springs, after I figred it out it was a breeze. Search the topics cause there are some really good posts on here that helped me out when I did mine

I did my suspension using VBP parts and I had to replace the ball joints after 200 miles. They were cheap, the ball & socket were all galded.
I put Moog ball joints in are they are great after 10K miles. Just a heads up, I've heard the same story from a lot of guys.

Ken, what kit did you buy and what does it include? In general, if you are fairly handy and patient, suspension work is not too difficult. Just be sure to take appropriate safety precautions if you're changing out springs and ALWAYS use jackstands - never trust a floorjack on it's own!!
Other than that, we are here for our questions if you run into any snags.
Good luck and have fun!!

I've purchased various suspension parts from them including my STEEROIDS kit. No problems and nice folks to deal with.
