I'm looking at the KYB gr-2 or the KYB gas adjust. My 81 does have the composite rear spring and a completely rebuilt front suspension with beefed up anti sway. Motor is 330 hp and 350 tq. I'm not looking for slalom runs and ,from driving around the '67 Camaro, I've learned that I would like to save my kidneys from being beaten to death. This car is going to be a cruiser more than a bruiser.
Thanks,
Dave

Dave - I have an 81 with a 350/350. I have the Gas Adjust and LOVE THEM. I replaced the stock monoleaf with a 330 composite. I also have the rear and front ends both rebuilt. I did the shocks long before the front/back rebuilds. On theyre own they were still fab.

Yup ! The KYB gas adjust seem to be a most popular, functional and affordable choice.

At least 90% of the shocks we sell are Gas-A-Just. We have never had a complaint.

If you can go for the bilsteins (they are pricey) but by far the best shock I ever had on a vehical. They really made a different car of my 71, and I am going to get a set for my everyday truck too.......
I have the Bilsteins on mine also with nthe composite spring and LOVE them! I also have a set for my truck. I just wish I could get time to put them on!

I had Bilsteins on an El Camino and they were great. They stiffened the suspension and made the handling much better. For the Corvette I am wanting a shock to smooth out the harsh ride due to the poor quality roads in this county. Right now the shocks are yellow (Monroe maybe?) and have oil trails on the body. I will go with the KYB's and see it how they feel.
