Just picked up 4 new rally rims for my 72 only to find out the center hub hole at 3 1/4in. is too large and won't rest on the hub of both the front bearing hub and the shoulder on the rear axle. The factory rally rim has a dished center hole at 2 3/4in. IT fits on both hubs snug. That rim is supported by the hubs and the studs just keep the two together. In other words the studs don't support the weight of the car. I talked to the vintique tech guy today and he said don't worry about it.He said "we sold 100,000 of these with no problems's.Well 30 some yrs. ago my 69 GTO judge lost studs because of this and one of my F550 work trucks also broke studs because the studs were supporting the vihicle's weight.Anybody out there agree with me?I need to sell these wheels or have 1/2 in. ring spacers made before I can use them.

I also agree, I had a bad experience once running Ford wheels on my old Plymoth, the center hole was too large and I lost a wheel in a corner.
I agree with you all. Don't take a chance.

I agree. We only sell the ones that fit right.

I bought them from a dealer up at the super chevy show at Maple Grove. He is from Kentucy so I don't know how that will pan out till I can make contact with him.I will look for used GM rallys now.I talked to my tire guy today about it and he said they make hub concentric wheels like my original rallys and stud concentric wheels where the center hole is larger than the hub.He thought I should stay with with the hub concentric wheels considering the horsepower and hard driving vettes are capable of.It all boils down to just making cheap products today to save a buck in manufacturing,IMO.
i still have 2 from my `69 if your interested

HEY!, HEY!, HEY!, Bob!! You can't do that! Never know when I might need the other two also!
Just kidding. Hopefully, I won't need them any time soon.
( I did buy the other two. The first because my wheel had too much runout and wouldn't balance. The second one because I had too much runout over the curb!)

I know the voices aren't real, but they have some pretty cool ideas...
