I would go with 245/50 tires, but its really just a personal preference thing.  Hopefully soon I'll be putting 17" wheels, with something close to 245/50 tires on my vette.

I used 255/50/r17 tires for my 17" X 8 wheels with a 4.00" back space. I think for a 18" wheel, use a 255/45/r18.

tom is correct..  you want a 27" diameter tire..

255/60/15 255/55/16 255/50/17 255/45/18 are all 27"

255's are fine for up front but you can stuff 285's in the rear. You need longer spring bolts to drop the rear of you car and it will close the gap. As mentioned about, get a tire thats the same overall diameter of your 15 tire.

Agree with Van Steel.  I used 10 inch bolts in the rear and cut them to about 9 inches once the stance was adjusted.  It just takes a few minutes.

Vette(s): 1975 C3 Red, T-Tops, Black Interior. All I need is time and money! Getting there!
Just keep in mind, if you change the rear ride height to return the car to level with bigger tires, you will change the rear alignment.  Not a problem as long as you have it aligned.

255/45/18 up front (27.04")

and

285/40/18 in back (26.98")

Hey van steel, I bought some great offset trailing arms from good guy in Clearwater, I think his name was Dan...(at Van Steel),  is that what I am going to need to "stuff" the 285s in?  What is the backspacing going to be??

Someday!
