I've been wondering what I could do lately to push my post count up some (almost out of the Top 5-Oh).

Seriously . . . I want to go with wider Rally wheels in the rear of my 71 coupe (like, maybe, 15X10). I already have fender flares and they look a bit lonely with stock 15X8 wheels.
Has anyone gone to a 10" wheel without going to OFFSET TRAILING ARMS? Is it just a matter of offset or backspacing in the new wheel?
What is the widest tire I can manage in the rear? I understand I would have to relocate the E-brake cable for starters. Anything else to mind??
I'll keep doing more research into old threads and other forums, but would appreciate any experience you guys have.
FYI, I'm running stock Rally wheels with BFG T/As. Thanks ahead of time.

You can put them as wide as you want...they'll just stick out a little!
A 10" rim would be pushin it, without rubbing on the fenders...guess it depends on how much wider the flares are than stock.
On the '72 drag car I had, a 9" rim, with a 12" tire was all we could get under it, and they did stick out just a tad(
) past the fender.

Hi Mike, Backspacing is the critical issue (apprx. 4") unless you go with the offset trailing arms, but I don't know how far you can go in the other extreme before trouble with the other side
