I have a 68 roadster, it runs 245-60-15's. I would like to run a wheel size similar to C5 sizes. Front being 245-45-17's which is 9.6 wide 25.7 dia. and rear 275-40-18's which is 10.8 wide and 26.7 dia. First of all can I fit the 10.8 inch wide tire in the rear without modifying my car. Second will the diference in tire sizes from front to rear effect the handling and how. Will the car understeer? oversteer? will it track straight? will it jump around? I want the car to handle as good, preferably better than it does now. Obviously after market alloy rims wiil be used.
I would greatly apprieciate any expert advice on this, it's a tough call for me and could use some input.
Thanx

Pete,
I'm not positive about the '68. However, for the wider tires in the rear you'll likely need offset trailing arms. They're usually several hundred bucks plus installation if you have a shop do the install.
Good Luck,

Andy

I just became a gold member this week, as I wanted to get a photo in also. You must be a gold or life member to add the photo. Go to the help section and it will tell you how to add a photo.

You can put a pic up even as a standard member, but you will have to store it somewhere else online, for example:
