I guess what I need to know is...will I have any problems at all with 245-45-17's on 17 x 8 TorqueThrust 2's? For now at least,I'm going with the same size at all 4 corners.I've already paid for the wheels on Ebay,so I hope they fit good,& I hope I dont get screwed over, either.

I wouldnt think so.. I took a set of cragar 17's and put them on my car for a day while I was working on the vehicle they were for..

I used 255/50/17's which are larger than what your using and had no problems

I think the size I saw on a 76 was 235-45-17 on 17 x 7,so I'm stepping up an inch in size in width on the wheels,& slightly wider on the tires,w/o really checking around much.So they should fit fine,I guess,eh?

by the way the rims I used were cragar 17x8 with 255/50/17's on them..

had a good fit on a 69... I believe the wheel wells on the later models are even more accomodating to larger tires.

Yeah,I was just going to ask about differences in wheel openings. So if there even bigger on 79 than 69,I shouldnt have any trouble. Thanks
