If I had not already installed a Borgeson gearbox I would have to buy it.

I have no issue with a used system if the price is right.
Good luck

Rook, Although I've never met you in person, I think we need to break this question down into smaller portions. Lets start by looking at some of your previous posts, you seem to like bantering with Ebo, that leads to the answer to the first part of your question which is "am I (Rook) crazy?" That answer would be YES! Definitely.
Now for buying the unit used, It seems as though you might have to spend some additional money to bring it back up to being in good shape as he said you'll need a pair of outer tie rod ends. Im not sure what a new set up costs, but with a used unit you will have no warranty. Even with that said, I would probably go for it if he would accept an offer of about 50% off the original cost including what the cost of the tie rod ends would be. Best of luck with it.

I would have to agree with Rod.....your crazy....and I have met you!
Also if you can get it for half price go for it. I know you were in the market for the gearbox set up, and if this saves you some kwain....then for sure you can make the gathering in May.
That will also prove to the rest that have not met you....that you are crazy.
Rod I like being arounf Rook.......he makes me look like an angel!

Dan, new they're about $1300. I love mine. (Lost a couple of feet in the turning radious, but it was worth it). My set has more than 5 K mi. and there is no play in the tie-rod ends. Maybe his is loose from auto cross racing ? If you decide to go new, you may want to check out this outfit I saw in Vette Magazine "Flaming River Ind." at www.flamingriver.com/corvette. Claims full turning radius. Don't know what the price is. let us know what you decide.

Love my Steeroids system. It's a great price IF it works....
Somewhat of a risk, but if it works, saves you some $ if you were planning to put the R&P in anyway...
Decide carefully.

I know I'm late to this, but I'd be hesitant to buy anything like that used when you don't know anything about it. I don't trust used parts, but maybe that's just me!

Barry

All in all I should probably go this way....I originally was thinking Borgeson.....
I thought they were more like 900......
Thoughts????

Vette(s): 1982 corvette crossfire production numer C5101985. Color is silver and claret. All original numbers match. slight mods to crossfire for better efficiancy and power balanced and added fuel pressure assembly between throttle bodies,
considering he used the item for autocross and the boot appears to have a substance on it I looked at the item and really considered it myself. but no warrenty, no guarentee if its actually in working order after being on his vette.
I elected not to bid or make him an offer. its been listed 3 times and he keeps dropping the price. if you ask me somethings wrong with it.
