Could someone point me to a good diagram or photos of the ignition wire routing for my 68 SB car (my assembly manual doesn't seem to have one), particularly to the front 4 cylinders around the motor mounts? Are they routed out of the shielding, around the front of the mounts, then to the 2-wire clips and to the plugs? Also, what wire is held by the clips on the oil pan?
Thank you very much!

John,
The factory routing of the 2 front wires (per side) is between the motor mounts & the engine. They come out of the shielding, through the "V" shielding & then through the mounts.
I can’t remember which wires went onto the oil pan clips, but when installed, it should be evident.
Hope this helps,
Anthony

The AIM should have the plug wire routing, but it may not be very good.
As Anthony states, the two front wires will go behind the engine mount.
Most all of the small blocks have them routed the same way. I'll try to get a pic from my AIM this evening and post.

Thank y'all for the response. Once I got the shields bolted on, I looked at outlet for the front wires, and figured that the wires must have gone between the mount and block. I guess my only question now is What were they thinking when they designed this setup?
Unless I'm missing something here, I'll have to raise the engine and loosen the motor mounts to change the wires. That's nuts!
Thanks again,

Just remove mount to block bolts and wedge a screw driver between block and mount and you can get plug wires through the opening
good luck
