Now that I have located a replacement carb, it is time to find a replacement air cleaner assembly. Paragon has what appears to be some pretty decent reproductions but I am curious if the factory pieces had part numbers stamped on them? How close are the reproductions in appearance to the original items? Any comments appreciated.

Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
I do not know the answer on the numbers but I just emailed a friend that my have some if not all of the parts.  Just bump this back to the top as it takes a day or so for him to get back to me most of the time.

afaik, there are NO stamped numbers on the air cleaner bases or tops. There should be a decal on the base that gives info on the air filter #, and some other stuff, and most tops had some instructions/numbers silk screened on the underside, that usually disappear after a few years of backfires.....
Most reproduction stuff like that is close enough to pass muster, just depends on who makes them. Paragon sells some of the best reproduction stuff available. When you call, just be sure to let them know what you are looking for....they have a pretty good inventory of NOS, and good used stuff, too.
