I once owned a '70 350/300 and now a '70 LS-5. I am getting conflicting information from "experts" about 454 body and engine components. So, I'm going to throw the questions out to y'all (that's right..I'm a Texan).
1.) The correct, factory installed air cleaner was A.) Dual snorkel or B.) Open air element style? My assembly manual shows a dual snorkel but things happened with production changes that may have changed that.
2.) I was told yesterday that the high horse 350 and 454 Corvettes had factory installed outside mirrors on both sides but the 350/300s did not. Huh?
Thanks,
Scott

Early '70 base 350 and LS-5 used the open air style. The passenger side mirror was a dealer installed option according to what I have read. To be sure check with some people at www.ncrs.org somebody will know for sure there. Good luck!!

All engine's used the open element until about serial number 12000, then only the LT1 used it. No right side mirror was ever installed at St. Louis for the '70 model year, if a car was so equiped it as either owner or dealer installed.
