I am completely redoing a 1975 Vette and need a part for the Air Conditioning. I need the line(hose) that goes fromthe VIR Valve to the Condenser. It has a relay in it to shut of the COmpressor when the Freon is not flowing at the proper rate. I have all the other hoses and parts, but no one can seem to find this part. It is part Metal and part hose, almost 50/50. This is the last part need to complete this project that started out as replacing a bent frame. I am changing the system to 134 from the old r-12.

I also put an LT-4 Grand Sport Motor(1996) into this so I am using many 96 parts, but need this one part from 75 to complete the system. Any help would be appreciated. I believe it was in used in 76 and early 77 as well.

Hey I cant help you much with the parts info, but im going to try and get my AC going in my 75. I has not worked for ever, and im tired of looking at the damn compressor sitting in my garage. Anyways let me know how the whole thing went and what I should buy new "now" and how the 134 stuff went. I would appreciate hearing from you!

I hope to have the car running this week. If I do I should know about the A/C within the next 2 weeks. I had to have that line with the relay fabricated and should have that tomorrow. All I have left is to have the hoses made coming from the Compressor. I am using a compressor from a 1996 Grand Sport(as I have put an LT-4 into the 75). The 134 should not be a problem. I plan to convert my 72 over the summer, which has all the stock components. My understanding is that the O-Rings are the only thing that needs to be changed before you can use the 134. I will try to remember to post again when I complete this project.

Vette(s): 1968 convertible; 1980 L-82. Numbers match on both.
The hose you seek and its GM part number should be listed in the assembly instruction manual. Take the part number to your Chevrolet Parts Department and determine whether they can get the hose for you or make a replacement.

Vette(s): 1979 Black coupe. 11256 original, documented, miles on it when I bought it in April of 2000. It now has 13100 on it. Oyster interior, like new. Everything original, everything works, except the clock. Paint has a couple of minor flaws.
I just posted on another thread, about changing a compressor, and changing from 12 to 134. this article tells how to do it. good luck

Just finished a complete restore/upgrade to R-134 of my A/C on my 75. Including the compressor, 3 fan belts, 1 bad expansion valve and complete cleaning of the system. My goal was to have a comfortable ride in 90-100 degree weather and in the end my goal was reached, plus about 500 dollars poorer, but worth it. When upgrading to R-134, a complete flushing of the system is almost a must, especially if like my A/C which has been not working for no telling how long. All the parts I purchased from Advance Auto. I had to wait about 3 days for everything to come in. I attempted to overhaul the A/C myself, but in the long run it was a bad mistake. I was lucky enough to find someone that I work with that works on car A/C in his parttime and was very professional. He had the vette for about 3 days and went above and beyond the norm to ensure that everything was working just right. He basically took everything with the A/C out, cleaned it and reassembled it. I gave him all the parts that I had ordered. The expansion valve that had came in was bad and he ended up cleaning the original valve and used it. In the end I had conditioned air coming out of the vents with a reading of 48 degrees, which was about 30 degrees colder than when I attempted the upgrade/fix. I'm man enough to admit, leave some work to the experts.
