I found a 283 block that Iam wanting to buy. The guy tells me it is out of a corvette but Iam not sure. Can someone tell me if it is by this # on the block V0331GF

That's the assembly date code, and the prefix for the application. The only thing I can tell you about it is it was built in Flint("V"), Mich., March 31.(0331)
The "GF" is the prefix #, but it's NOT a Corvette engine #. It may have once been in a 'Vette, but not from the factory.
