l an building a completly new engine for my69 vette and l could not deceided which intake and carb combo l must use with this set up. edelbrock dual quad or orginal torker with 750 cfm speed demon carb ?it must olso fit under my stock hood.any help and suggestion will be very helpfull.
4 bolt gm block wıth 3.80 high nodular stroker crank,5140 forged l beam 6inc rods,silvolite hypereutectic flat top piston comp ratio 10.25 1 with 72cc combustion camber bul ı will use afr 195cc heads with 74cc combustion camber and the final comp will be 10.0 1,cam will be hydraulic roller comp cam 230 236 duration @ 50

In their catalog, Edelbrock says their only intake that will fit under a stock Corvette hood is their Performer. What you should do is e-mail Edelbrock tech department direct and give them all the specs of what you're doing to your engine, and they'll give you recommendations of what intake/carb combinations will work best.
Very good suggestion. If you are interested on other brands, you can call the tech assist line at Summit Racing, and they can also give you several options. The tech line is a toll call, unless your local. Look at SummitRacing.com to get the number. You can also talk to Jeg's racing, but I have not found them to be as helpfull or as friendly. Perhaps just my bad luck. I'm lucky, Summit Racing is only 5 1/2 miles from my house. No shipping for me!

I've never seen a C3 with a dual quad setup. No question it can be done, but it seems that unless you use carbs no bigger than about 500 cfm, you'll end up with an impressive looking fuel dumping system rather than a fuel delivery system. I would still think a properly setup single carb system of 600-800 cfm matched to your engine specs would be a lot more practical and driveable, unless you plan on living at max rpms most of the time and own stock in a refinery.
I keep a January 2002 issue of Hot Rod magazine that has an article where they tested different multi-carb setups and compared to a single carb setup. They tested the Edelbrock C-26 with two 500 cfm Performer carbs(PN#1404)with the recommended progressive linkage kit. They stated that the carbs were a little rich out of the box for their 490 hp small block 350. Peak hp dropped to 446 hp with this setup. Torque below 3500 rpm increased, but overall decreased by 15 lb-ft. The C-26 intake is a low profile intake like the original intakes on the early 283 corvettes(it maybe a copy of it). Pending the air cleaners you choose, it should fit under your hood. Oh yeah, if you use the progressive linkage recommended, this setup runs off of the back carb until you put your foot into it. If your looking for more HP, use a single carb. If your going for looks and something different, this might be it. Go to Edelbrock for advise before you make your decision.

Here's another option. I saw an ad where Barry Grant (Demon Carbs) has introduced a copy of the 3 X 2 carb setup (like on the 427 corvettes)for the small block chevy. It is not listed on his web site, but is suppose to be a new product currently available. I don't know pricing, but the picture looks like the original 427 corvette setup with a similar air cleaner. That would get alot of double takes at the car shows.

I build a 383 for my 84. Used new fast burn heads, wisco pistons 10.0 comp., 6" rods and a steel crank. Ran it first on the dyno with deamon carb 750 and edelbrock duel plane manifold. Had comp cams grind a cam close to the new chev 383 specs., which is a roller. Used jesel valve train sys. It dynoed at 487 HP at 4200 and 445 ft # torque at 3800. I then changed to edelbrock pro-injection for vortex heads. Easy bolt on and works great. Dynoed at 540 HP at
4400 and increased torque ato 483 at 4100. Have about 9000 miles on car this summer. Get 22+ Miles per gallon on 89 octane. Ran 1/4 mile at 11.07 at 121 MPH. The injection was the best investment I made.

That is awesome!!!!! How much did it cost you to convert over to the fuel injection unit by Edelbrock? I am currently running vortec heads on my 350.
