Dang! They bent to pee outta the pan, right at the drain plug! Yeeeesh! No wonder the thing is peeing!
Also...I see that the bellhousing has been welded....sure hope it is a good weld job.
The trans is aluminuminum....never seen a cast iron case on a Shark era Corvette...from the factory, anyway. If the countershaft is leaking, it will leak from between the bellhousing and the trans case. The gear oil will run both forward, down the bellhousing, and back onto the trans case. An input shaft leak will normally only run out the front side of the bellhousing, close to the engine side.

Thanks for info. The oil pan is going to be fixed. The weld on the bell housing has been there for years. I am trying to keep the number matching drive train. This winter the transmission will be taken out and over hauled.

Be SURE, when you do have the trans worked on, to remove that small metal tag on the bottom of the shifter cover and hide it....that is the factory part number. Very rare to see one still attached to a trans because they usually get lost, or thrown away when having trans work done....

Once you get the trans finished, re-install the tag in the same place.
