My oil temp gauge is almost pegged right. Sometimes (no particular reason or situation) it works. Sounds like something loose.
I've ordered a new oil temp sending unit.
Has anyone else had the problem? |idea|

On my '76 the same indication turned out to be a dirty electrical connection at the sending unit.
