Vette(s): 1974 L-48 Auto. Just your basic Vette. GM crate motor w/vortec heads and intake. Crane cam. Scorpion rockers, Edelbrock carb. Lots of parts still in boxes... :(
Watch your back, with all that leaning over...

You doing it the old fashioned way?  Tightening them down until they stop tapping?

They look good.  Too bad your valve covers aren't see through.  Beer

My daughter came over after work and I could only do half because of the back.  But hey, They're half done!

Sarge, I'll agitate you tomorrowSmile

I did find clear valve coversShocked but not for center bolt heads.  How long are they going to stay that way?

Dave....are the holes in the head that the pushrods go thru circular, or are they slotted, as in they have flats on the sides? If the pushrod holes are completely round....you're not going to be able to run those rockers without installing guide plates. IF the pushrods holes have flat sides, then yer good to go. The reason is that you have to have some way to hold the rocker arms squared on the valve tips. If the pushrod holes are completely round, there is nothing to guide the rods, and hold them in line. The slotted type holes are to guide the rods. Without the slotted holes, you need guide plates.
Just something you need to check before finishing up on the rockers....

Joel, I believe he bought the self aligning rocker arm. The ones that were on there originally were self aligning.

Dave, I'm going to your hood tonight. Hanging out at the Moose Lodge. Stop by if you have time.

Joel, What he said!Thumbs Up

Yeppers, I'll be there.

After working on the engine with Sara, the back isn't doing me any favors this morning.  I'll get out there and finish it today...very slowlySmile

On a positive note, I didn't leave any blood in the engine compartment, just a little skin.  Wow, who'dve thunk it?
