I don't mind rice rockets. The Asians make some very good cars. And what they have done with them is remarkable. I have a lot of respect for that. But nothing is like an old muscle car. And no old muscle car is like a C3 Corvette. It's all in what you like. Give me a C3 any day.

I agree with Ken about the technology on the ricers, but I just can't get excited about a car that sounds like a bee on steroids.

Dave...lucky you finding a NOS L-71 camshaft! I don't know how different the specs on it are from the Crane L-88 cam in my car. The specs for my cam show its power range from 4400-7000 rpm's with a 7400 rpm limit before the valves start to float.

I don't even drive my car that fast to take advantage of its power potential. With its 4.11 rear, it's not like it lacks for pulling power!

When I bought the car, it had a very tired 396 in it, my engine guru tweaked it and set the carbs up. It only heated in traffic, and that bugger would fly! It ran good until I decided it was time to start the resto. I checked the bore on the 396 after the tear down, it's standard! and has a steel crank! It's either going in my hot rod or a short bed 68 truck.
