I haven't used the one that you mentioned, but I installed the Pertronic electronic ignition on my 1968 L71 and it's amazing how it starts and runs. Can't say enough about it. An ignition is not something I would cut corners on. Of course, the one you're talking about may be just as good. Wish I could help more, but I highly recommend the Pertronic, as the magnetic ring fits under the distributor cap and the only thing you can see are the two wires that come out from under the cap. I like this better than the box type that mounts to the fender well/firewall, etc.

I got the Pertronix Ignitor 1 at a local speed shop. It cost $79.95. I have a Performance Corner catalog and they list for $82.99 there. Their number is 800-533-8989. They also sell a Ignitor II, but I haven't tried it. I'm guessing that Summit would also sell the Ignitor 1 for around the same price.

I used the Mallory Uni-lite. It worked fine.

I went the whole MSD route: Distributor, coil and 6A spark box. Flawless.

Also used their wires. Not so flawless, and also tasty to mice, who nibbled on the jackets. Swapped em out for Taylors - flawless, and apparently not as tasty

i've used pertronics in a 63 olds,66 mustang & a 51 ford flathead worked great.

currently using delco points. set em and forget em

I bought the Pertronix Ignitor II for my '73 coupe. I haven't installed it yet. The directions warn about solid core spark plug wires, which I currently use. I'll be swapping them out on Memorial day, and installing the new ignition, along with the Flamethrower II coil. I'm glad to hear that others have been satisfied with the upgrade.

Hi, I fitted the Pertronix Igniter II & Flamethrower Coil to my 71 Roadster and the beast flies ! Go do it ! You guys got it cheap, the whole deal cost me about 300 bucks here in England but it was worth it.
