Is there still such a thing as an engine "Break-In Period"?
If so, how long is it? What should you not do during the period? When should the first oil change occur? etc...
Thanks!

Adam,
Ya know, that is a VERY good question. A new car really requires no break-in period anymore. I don't know if that is true for a crate engine. I understand the cams are broken in by running the engine for about 20-25 minutes at 2000 rpm. Again, I don't know if the crate engines have the cam broken in or not. I bet you won't hurt it if you put some 10-30 in it and do the 20 minute run at 2000 rpm.
But what the heck do I know, I work on computers.
Is there any way I can do something like your "project car" on the forum or within the site?
Good luck and I hope someone answers you that knows what they are talking about :-)

Glenn,
sure. Use your Personal Home Page. You just need to create your pages offline, using MS-Word or Front Page or and HTML editor, then upload your files to your Personal Home Page.

Adam the advice that glenns offered is good . It certainly will not hurt to do a 2krpm run in for about 20 minutes ,,,, better safe than sorry .
