Happy Spring fellow C3ers!
Just fired up Red Velvet after her long Winter nap. Brand new battery, a little starter fluid and she fired right up. Opened the hood and noticed this happening on the passenger side. Looks like bubbling coolant, not oil.
Took the video, turned the car off, dried up the fluid, started her again and went for a long ride. Got back home and nothing, no fluid. Last year, I did a lot of cleaning and scraping in that area before I painted the engine. I'm wondering if I cleaned up some "gunk" that was stopping a leak and now that I got the engine nice and hot again, the "gunk" gummed up again and sealed that area. Is that a weird theory?

I don't have "permission" to view your video....
That being said, sometime, when an engine is left sitting for a while, the first start/run cycle CAN create some minor leakage like you describe. Gaskets can shrink, and allow fluids to leak a little until they get saturated again, swell, and the leak stops. I'd say keep an eye on it for a while, and see if it continues to leak everytime you start it, or if it never leaks again(until it sits all winter again).

I was hoping it could be chalked up to contracting or drying due to non use and the freezing cold we had this winter. I will keep an eye on it!
