I have a 1968 or 1969 350 in this old 55 Chev P/U I have had since 1975.

Story was the motor came out of a 68 Vette.
I have also heard that it came out of a 69 Camaro.
The Vin # on the block is...N152435 VI202MS.
Anyone know what it is?

According to my interchange manuel, 1968 was a 327. They start with 350 in 1969. You need the casting # on the back passinger side of the block. Early 69 is 3932386,3956618. late 69, 70-71 and 72 early is 3970010, 72 late is 3970014. these blocks were also used in Chevelle, Camaro, Impala and Caprice.

Thanks, I will go out and see if I can find that one.
Do the front #'s tell us anything?
As per Naszy Z-28.com, the block was for a '67 350ci/295hp motor with a 4-barrel carb & manual trans.

MS |
1967 | 350 | m/t | 295 | 4 | F X |
Is that what was the motor is? So the MS is the key?
Then what do the m/t and FX stand for? (Thinking the m/t is for Manual Trans, which it has).
Looks like in 67 that was a good running 350.
Thanks again so much.
At this time I am leaning toward pulling this 55 Chev P/U out and getting it back on the road before I put a create motor in the Vette.
I am finding a need for speed! And this truck hauled back in the day. I have had it for 32 years now. Hasnt been on the road in 10-12 years.

It is not Corvette; probably Camaro. The N152435 stamp indicates the Norwood (N) assembly plant and the engine was installed in the 152435th vehicle assembled there during the model year. Norwood built Camaros and possibly other GM makes.
V indicates the Flint, Michigan engine assembly plant. All Corvette smallblocks came from Flint, so you are on the right track there, but the Flint facility built smallblocks for almost all the Chevrolet lines. I202 indicates the date the engine was assembled at Flint: December 2nd. The MS engine suffix identifies the engine as a 67-68 350, 295hp, Camaro or Nova engine with manual transmission.
I vote for a Camaro 350.

I remember when I bought the truck there were 2 stories.
One was the motor was out of a Vette.
The other was it was out of a Camaro.
So what can anyone tell me about this engine?
67, 350 295hp.
I guess I am kind of stoked to think I have a 350 from the 1st year.
What would one do to pull a little more ponies out of this deal?
