Well I finally did it... bought the chrome valve covers from Zip. They may not be original, but they sure do make a difference in looks and I only go to local shows so what the heck... makes me and Mama happy...... they seem to be really good quality covers. Cost me $129, but I don't think I'll have any problem with leaks. The chrome is excellent too... now for the chrome breather cover and did I mention electronic ignition
... That will be all... I like just a little chrome...

i agree, a little chrome goes a long way. i, too, have added the chrome
to dress things up a bit. i know i'm not going to have a show stopper
but as paul said it is sure nice seeing it smile back at you.
