What is the correct idle speed for my 79 L42 when hot and in idling in Park?  What should it be in Drive at a stop?  Is there a way to adjust these settings separately?

Thanks!

[/QUOTE] Nope. L48 in drive should be 500, L82 is 700. I'd set it in drive with someone holding the brakes, maybe a little higher than 500. Make sure the air is off as the A/C solenoid should kick the idle up another 100 or so. Make sure timing is correct and no vacuum leaks, too.   Mike
