It's really up to you and what you want. If you want a little more power
you can't go wrong with a crate for power and dollars.
I bought the ZZ-4 and would do it again in a heartbeat. You could always keep your old motor on ice in case you ever want the MN.
Good luck and have fun.

I put a crate engine in mine (375 HP). Worth every penny!

I also went with the ZZ4 turn key engine, best move I ever made, and has a 2 warrenty from GM.

If you want to upgrade, go with the crate engine. As already stated, find a place to store the old engine (if you want to go back to stock). How does it feel to be the ripe old age of 28 today? Happy Birthday (#150)

I went with a GM crate motor, 5yr warrenty is hard to beat. Everything bolted up and the only way you know it's not original is if you know where to look. Good performance, and much cheaper than rebuilding at only 1,250$ at the time. Bought mine through Jeg's.

I have to vote with the crate motor group. Either the base motor or the ZZ4, depending on power needs and pocketbook. And by all means keep your old engine so you can make it original again when the market demands it.
