So I was cruising Ebay and came across this site. These look really cool and I think I want to put it on my Christmas list.

Anyone ever see one of these or have any information about them??

Looks interesting, but I'd like to see the actual hood liner and the decal for my car before I'd order.

I'm with Barry on this. I dont even know if my 72 hood had an original hood liner and there are no fasteners to hold one in place. Now there was a member of C3VR a few years ago that was going to do custom painting on hood liners and he contacted me about doing one on my 74 but after the first few communications I never heard back from him. I still have his PM to see if he ever moved forward on any but that would have been on the original material. But I would like to put something on the underside of my hood as well.

Interesting post.  I've been thinking more and more about doing something under my hood, but I think I'm goign for a bit more custom

Nice find Dan:

I actually saw something similar to this, but not as nice that I planned on putting under my hood.  I really like the 25 anniversary emblem.

I sent him an email tonight asking if he planned on going to Carlisle, or if not would he be willing to get me a sample of the material and decal to show everyone. I'll wait to see what his response is to my request.

Ida know guys...looks kinda cheesy to me. My concern would be about the longevity of the product...how well does it stick to the hood, and how well does the decal stick to the product? If the hood is flat, I can see it would prolly work best.
Also, on the '73-'75 cars, you have to deal with the fresh air system....wha-chu gunna do bout that?
I'm on the fence on this one...they do look neat on some cars.

Hi Guys,

Couple of emails to Gonzo (the maker of the hoodliners).  I pointed him at this forum and he asked me to reply to Adams Apple.  Here's that email in its entirety.

Jim

Hi Jim,

As you can tell my hoodliners do come with one decal, for extra decals I ask that people either Paypal me directly an extra $10 and indicate what they'd like or I can send a direct PayPal invoice to their e-mail address. I'm not an html coder so I'm still trying to figure that one out!

I did visit the forum and saw the thread! Tell "Adam's Apple" I have answers for his questions - you can copy and paste this into a reply to the forum:

<< Ida know guys...looks kinda cheesy to me. My concern would be about the longevity of the product...how well does it stick to the hood, and how well does the decal stick to the product? My hoodliner will last the rest of the life of the car and won't fall apart. There is no comparison between my hoodliner and any other aftermarket insulation! It stays stuck to the underhood due to the 3M #80 spray adhesive, plus a little work on the part of the person installing it: 1) smooth sanding with a fine grit sandpaper or a sanding sponge and then 2) cleaning really well with a good degreaser like Simple Green, etc. The decal stays stuck to the smooth side and won't melt or come off. There have been 2 instances where coolant hoses burst and sprayed hot coolant on both my liner and the decal, they came clean with a degreaser and were unscathed.

On the cars with the crossfire injection or cowl induction, my liners don't have that opening. However you can make that opening with an X-Acto knife or a utility knife. The material cuts cleanly and doesn't leave any frayed edges.

Thanks!

Gonzalo Duque "Gonzo"
