So, it turns out I didn't know what I was doing when I tried to take the dipstick tube off my my '79 L48, and broke it off where it enters the block!

And idea where I can get a replacement? Chevy, Ecklers, Corvette Amercia, etc? What exactly do I need? How does the damn thing attach to the block anyway!?

Dipsticks are press fit into the block. In all likelihood, the part you broke was only the outside part. The bad news is the inside half of the tube is probably still in your block.

The thing is, I have a new GM Crate engine that doesn't have a dipstick tube in it.
How do I get a tube in it?
