I bought a set of advanced weights and spring for my distributor (under $10). WOW! What a difference! Runs much stronger and will now smoke the tires. NICE...

Old weights were rusted, had two different bushings in each side, had two different size springs installed.

Tuned to 35-36 degrees by 2500RPM, very responsive.

This has been on my list for a couple years but was a small item and just never got to it. What surprised me most is that I thought the old weights were working ok but really they were not. I would recommend to others to check or change theirs with a performance set. I was very impressed with the results and it is a low cost item. It feels like a different car.

Just getting the advance mechanism working correctly is a great boost in performance and cost is very minimal. I used Lars paper over at Corette FAQ and could not be happier with my results.
Corvette FAQ Just search on the page for How To Set Timing White Paper.

I checked my dist last winter and found the pivot holes in the weights elongated with the pivot pins worn 1/2 way through. I put in a new Mallory, but someday I would like to rebuilt the original. I also found the timing chain way stretched. I guess that's what you get with an engine that has 125K miles on it. It runs much better now.
