I have a 81 Corvette L81 with Califorina Emissions on it, When I bought the Vette it had just been inspected here. The motor had a bad main bearing that I knew needed to be replaced, when I went to work getting ready to pull the engine I found that the few hoses that were hooked up been stuffed with lead weights to not really funtion and several hoses were just hidden and didn't realy go anywhere.

I have pulled the engine and put it all back together except for the emission which I put back the same as I found it, But I am coming due to get it inspected and need the Emission hose diagram for this setup so I can fix what had been disabled and get working right again. It might not pass if I don't the inspections here are getting real strict. The smog pump seem to be fine but I know there are hoses missing. any help would be greatly appreciated.

81 Vetteman, I can try to send a pic of the emission diagram off of my hood decal if you would like. I believe that all '81's were California emission compliant. Since the L81 350 cu.in. was the only option that year, unlike the '80 vette w/ the mandated "California" 305 cu.in. that year. Let me know if that will help, and give me a day or 2 to get the pic to you. Sarge

After reading your reply I went out and checked under the hood to see if the sticker was there still, It was there is looks like it was painted over (spraycan) , I was able to get the paint off of it with WD-40 and a mild paint remover mix I mixed up.

I will have to go get a new EFE TVS and Purge TVS some of the port on the ones on it looks like they were filed with epoxy or some thing. Some shots of the hoses in that area showing how the were connected would help.

Thanks again for pointing out that sticker, I am sure I will be finding more surprises as I fix things but its the car I always wanted and don't mind the work when I see the finished results.
