Hi from the bottom of the world.Have imported my 68 Roadster from the US of A and have a few problems making sense of the numbers on the block and heads. Hope someone out there can be of assistance.

Block casting 3970010   K7, stampings are 12B533374   K10 07 CTL.

Heads. GM (Box) 6 , D  N , X , 3986336 , K 06.

               GM (Box) 8 , D  N , 3986336 , K 06.

Gearbox is four speed Muncie , 3915088.

I've found some of what you need. The block casting 3970010 is for a small block Chevy from 1969-79, and could be either a two- or four-bolt block. CTL is for a 1970 4-speed, 4- barrel Rochester Quadrajet engine. The other stamping are probably date codes and foundry codes.

The heads are a 1971 casting for a 350 with 76cc combustion chambers.

3915088 doesn't come up as a transmission casting number, but may be the casting number for one of its components.

Hope this is some help...maybe someone else can do a better job decoding those numbers for you.

and that transmission doesnt come up as a muncie..  i didnt check and t-10 or super t-10 info..  maybe it is one of these..

Hi , Thanks for that, now makessome sense,car has had front body clip from '70 (front wheels forward) added at some time, my guess is they added the '350' motor at the same time.
