[QUOTE=Ten15]Bruce,

The casting & date numbers for your heads can only be seen with the valve covers off.

If the heads are original, there should be a casting number of 3973487 (only small block head for 1971) and below that should be a date code.  An example of a date code would be D231D=May   23 = 23rd day  1 = 1971.

# 3927185 = used on MANY different vehicles, with 307/327/350cid, from a '69 Camaro to a '76 Chevy truck...but, unfortunately, never on a Corvette...
The casting date of '70 would exclude it from being for a 327, tho.

Shocked Oh boy, Welp, went from treasure hunt to Cry.  Boy I guess I can stop wondering if someone did a good rebuild and produced a mock LT-1.  Just really odd that someone would go and put the high rise edle. intake on and big block hood for no reason.  Some people just don't get it.  Seems the tranny doesn't match, no idea how to match the differential nothing seems to match there.  Atleast the motor matchs I guess, minus the heads.DeadDeadDeadDeadDeadCryCryCryCry
