The casting # is very common on 350s from the mid/late 70s...
The date stamp, and suffix codes are not familiar. We'll need to do a little research.
Are you certain the suffix stamp is a TX3, not TXB?
TXB is for a '75, 350, conv.cab truck(C-20 to 3500series), 165hp, 4 barrel carb.
Actually, ALL TX engine suffix numbers are for Chevy truck engines, from '75 to '78...

It could be TXB, a 3 and a B are very similar

I updated the info above...
There is NO listing of a TX-with a number...only letters, so it must be TXB.

Sorry...it ain't exactly the news you were expecting/wanting to hear, I'm sure.
But...now you know what you've got. From the VIN stamp, and the date stamp, it appears to be an engine from a '77 model truck. The casting date on the block could confirm that....

I think the heads are original and the intake manifold is an alluminum Edelbrock. So I'm thinking that just the block has been changed. So I'm woundering if it's 2 or 4 bolt mains and I realy don't know what is in the inards.

Well a lot of trucks, as I recall, were 4 bolt blocks. About the only way to tell for sure would be to drop the pan and check to see if its a two or four. I wouldn't dispair too much if it is a four bolt, its still a good strong engine!

_popupControl();
I found a '78 pace car with the vin matching the car, with 5 digit showing it to be an L82 and the motor suffix showing CUT, to be an L48! That is a big mistake. The car also had an L82 tack????
