Well I think the best approach is to just do it slowly. Thanks for the advise and I will let you guys know what happens. I have a 12 ft ceiling in my shop but not much side room so may have to rig a chain hoist and position
the car under on jacks. Thanks again, Mike R.Clap

I installed my engine (350 SB) with the 4 spd T-10 bolted up to it, no water pump, fuel pump, exhaust manifolds or radiator installed.  I also used an engine tilter to help slide everything in at a angle, and had a friend of mine help jockey the engine in while I was underneath guiding the tranny over the crossmember. Even though my crossmember is a bolt-in unit, I found it easier to leave it in versus jacking up the tranny and then trying to get it bolted back up.
 Just take your time and be safe.
