Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed
Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses.
2008 Jetstream Blue Convertible
Must be a '74 thing Keith - mine does the same thing! I just keep the top down!
Seriously, welcome to the site!! Always glad to have another 74 here!! I'm sure someone here will have a better response for you than me. I'm not much of a wrench turner myself.
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

Welcome to C3VR!
First, make sure the idle stop/anti-diesel solenoid is working properly, and the idle speed is correct for the car. If not, then adjust the A/D solenoid plunger to set the idle speed with the engine running. If it continues to stall, or almost die when put in gear, with the A/C on, it's possible the A/C compressor is putting too much of a load on the engine, due to internal damage, pulley bearing damage, or even too much freon charge.
What is the idle speed without the A/C on, in park?
