This for the 81. I took the hood off to dress-up the the under side and I took it out for a spin to check a electrical problem I notice that my engine would lift up on the driver side when I got on it? Not just a little but a lot. Could this be motor mount problem if so what am i looking for to make sure?

If it's raising up enough to see it move, it's too much. The mount(s) needs to be replaced...
It may not be completely broken at this time, but it is definitely on it's way out. If your car had a regular fan and shroud, the fan would be hitting on the shroud....

Yup, sounds like the motor mount is bad. Get it replaced before you lose the engine!!

What does it take to replace the motor mount? It seems that I would have to push the engine up enough to get the mounts off. Where would I put the floor jack to push it up? The oil pan does not seem like a good place to push up on.
I raise mine by jacking on one side or the other of the oil pan. Just make sure you use a piece of wood or something to distribute the force. I use a piece of 2x10 about a foot long and keep the jack towards the side I'm lifting. Make sure you get the bolt out before you apply to much lifting force. This is how I've always done it. Someone else here may have a better way though.

Somehow, pushing up on th3 oil pan does not seem like a good idea to me. Must be a better place to jack up the sid of the engine to replace the mount.
No I am not going to push up on the oil pan. But take a 2by 10 and put the end on the edge where the oil pan bolts are and push up just enough to replace the bolts. I have seen this before I just remember when he said it.
