I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

Forget about timing lights...the only thing they are really usefull for is seeing where it is once you get it running right. That way, you have a "baseline" to start with from then on.
Check out THIS THREAD ,and THIS ONE. There is some very solid info one timing an engine to run without pinging, or being hard to start hot.

Talked with the guy at the machine shop that rebuilt the engine and he seems to think at this point there is nothing other than poor fuel that could be causing the pinging. And it has been "deiseling" for lack of a better word when shutting off the motor. I am going to keep putting the 93 in it and try to get all of the old crappy fuel out. Hopefully that will solve it. Where does one get octane booster? And any particular brand you can suggest? One more thing, would you add it with every tank, or every other? Thanks again for all the input.
