Vette(s): 1970 T-Top350/350hp numbers matching 4 speed. It's a mess and 1970 Convertible 4 speed.

I am just about to the point of doing the engine and heres my option. Right now I have non matching numbers 350 with a build date of 2/69 There's a mechanist that needs that block for a guy and he is willing to trade that block for a 350 build date of 2/70. The trim code on my car is c/28 1970. Now this engine comes with Camel humps heads. Should I send the block off and get the correct vin codes on it and keep it stock or just stay with my original plans of making the 69 block a 383 stocker? One side of me says to keep it stock but the other side says you want power! I was told there is only about a 600.00 difference.

Vette(s): #1 -1969 Corvette Coupe Riverside Gold, black interior,MN,A/C,350/350,PS,PB,window cranks. #2 -2000 C5, black/black, 6 sp, Bose system & lots of buttons.

Well, all I can say is that I keep mine stock and when I need a rebuild, I will keep it that way.  I have the 350 and 350 hp is enough for me with plenty of good ol' fashioned tork........it's not a turtle. LOL  I like it stock because it's a piece of history that I want to keep alive.........just my 2 cents. Wink

It's a non-original engine to start with...why bother stamping it?

You can build a stock-appearing engine from either one, but neither will be "original" to the car. Go with the stroker, if that's what ya wanna do.
btw...Camel hump heads don't necessarily mean they have the larger valves, or smaller chambers. There were several different heads that used the "Camel Hump" ID on the ends, but...there were minor differences in the way the humps look.

Close but no cigar.  An engine assembly date of 2/70 would be stretching it a bit for your car with a March 28th time/build date.  An engine assembly date of March would be better.  No big deal since the block is not the original.

Machinist wants your block; you can get his block.  I'd swap blocks with him if you're otherwise planning on pulling the engine.  If you want the 383, you could build it from the 2/70 block.
