Vette(s): 1972 conv, 4-speed, 350, 200hp, numbers match, rally wheels, war bonnett yellow w/white top. good condition, nice driver.
How about BODY Mounts on the frame? Are they sagging or crushed? Could be some of the low problem on one side.

I had to trim a little bit on both sides when putting them on.
You can also try loosening the rear attachment, then loosen front attachment and try to force down while tightening the front. Then tighten rear.

I would check ride height left to right and hope it is a spring was the car ever hit up front ?

The more I look at and compare sides I believe it has, but I have no proof, This is my first Vette
I wouldn't think ride height (springs) should effect the fit, or am I thinking of something else?

No, I was referring to the side exhaust mounting points.

Jason, something I have been thinking aboot, but keep fergittin to ask..
When you put the new body mounts on, were there any shims on any of the mount locations? If so, are you certain you got them all back in the correct location? Seems like you had one corner that was way off, but we decided it was because you had the car in the air. I'm just wondering if you don't have a body mount shim that has gone missing, or something crazy like that, that could be causing the clearance issue with the pipes. Of course, it's entirely possible the pipes weren't welded exactly correct to begin with.
Just a couple of errant thoughts.....

I pulled and left the shims in the same area I took the mounts out of. funny the right side that is fine had very little shims, and the left side that is so low has pretty much 1/4 inch of shims at every mount. and before you ask :) the mounts were pretty corroded and mashed to think they had already been replaced.
the corner that was way off was the drivers far rear, and I did have jack stands in the middle of the car and one up front under the front brace, so the back was just hanging. I guess now that it is on the ground I could recheck that mount.
maybe I'll have to look into checking ride height body and frame. although my garage isnt perfectly level I dont know if I would fine 3/8 of an inch off

Hmmmm....frustrating, to say the least!
I hate to say it, but it is beginning to sound more and more like the car may have been hit somewhere down the line, considering the fan shroud issue, and now this. The only other explanation would be the engine mounts are just not exactly right, for some reason. I'd have to go back and check the thread on the shroud, but was the fan/shroud out of alignment before you did the engine mounts?
