Can drive for 10-15 miles and the engine quits,no missing,no stumbling, just quits..its getting plenty of gas to carb. It's like hitting a kill switch..sets over night and will start like nothing is wrong, drive for another 10-15 miles an it does the same thing! have replaced the distributor cap, ign. coil, control module ,rotor, capacitor, plug wires and plugs.. Whats next..any ideas?

Vette(s): White '79 Corvette. It's a driver.

I don't have alot of technical advice to offer, but try using a new gas cap.

Might be worth a try.

Check for spark at plugs
look in carb when throttle pushed is fuel present
Check the fussable links by starter

Do you have a metering valve in the carb?  Might be that.

You could be getting vapor lock. How hot is the engine running? Could also be a rubber fuel line collapsing nce it warms up...

I have the quadrojet on my 81.  The metering valve is inside the carb.  It can be checked:  As you stand in front of the car it is on the carb in the 6 O'clock position.  Measurements can be performed to tell if the valve is at fault.  I have the C-3 computer on my car and the computer could not control the flow of gas to the carb because of the flow meter.  Check that out with your mechanic.
