Well I just can't seem to catch a break with this car. Drove it home yesterday and I watched the guages carefully, started out at 40 psi and temp just over 200. Car sounded great I thought all was good, about 15 miles from home temp dropped to about 185 and oil pressure dropped to about 22, now I'm concerned, got to shed for car and oil pressure dropped to zero, stopped car and holy crap the engine is boiling, what the hell, If I screwed something up on my new build I'm gonna put this car in the corner and leave it.
Hate it when stuff like that happens...!!!
I would think that a cooling system blockage of some sort (collapsed hose, water pump failure, etc) should have sent the temperature up on the gauge - not down. Any number of possibilities for the goofy gauge reading. Heat build up like that could be a bad thermostat, radiator blockage, water pump failure... Where was the boiling going on - in the engine, in the radiator, or both?
Where is the oil level at on the dip stick? Oil pressure dropping could be something simple as the sending unit taking a dump or a loose wire, or more serious as the oil pump going out.
I would suspect the cooling system is low, or has(had) an air bubble. Definitely check the engine oil to make sure there is no coolant leaking into the oil. As far as oil pressure, unless you installed a mechanical gauge, you really have to assume there is a problem with either the gauge, or the sender unit. Rule of thumb for engine oil pressure is 10psi for every 1000 rpms is sufficient to keep the engine from damage. As long as it was not rattling at that point(0 psi), I would ignore the oil pressure readings and concentrate on the cooling issue. You can always install a temporary mechanical gauge to verify oil pressure, but the overheating would bother me more.

I believe i have an air lock in system will get to it another day, oil is good , no leaks anywhere that i can see, still need to do some tweaks to it, but otherwise runs and sounds amazing. Will take some time to get all the glotches out i would think since i had it conmpletely apart
